Paying for a careless mistake i've made

Last Friday, after work, i went to Sf's hse downstairs to collect my slice of Durian Mousse Cake from Goodwood Park Hotel as well as to c Baby jacus. Kai Bin & Shawn is oso der to see Jacus & they went Rivervale Mall to get drinks b4 i arrived. So when i park my car at the loading bay & was walking out fr my car to look for them, as usual, 1 of my hand was carrying my bulky wallet, my hp & car key. I called sf to ask where r they already & i guessed it was at this point of time when i'm happily chatting on e fone w her & i din even realised i've actually dropped my car key. I happily carried Jacus & even pass my stuffs to Sf, asking her to tk for me...The careless me din even realised tt time when i handed my stuffs to her, it was only left with 2 items.

I happily went up with SF & Jacus and even have my dinner & watch 9 pm show together w sf. When the 9pm show ended & i was abt to go home, then i realised my car key is not with me. I quickly rushed down & tot my car key is left at my car but to no avail. Den kev, sf & me search ard those areas that we walked through but to no avail too...So kev send me home to tk my spare key without remote. At that time, i was very nervous, was praying hard that the original key will be at the carpet or what once i opened my door. When kev opened my door with the spare key, the alarm sounded but he try to start the engine and it went off. But the engine cant be start with the spare key.

I was in a dilemma of what to do and i cant possible left my car here when my car key was lost at this blk. I'm afraid if someone bad happened to pick it up, he might steal my car away. Kev used to be a police officer in his army days & he told me der were such cases where people steal car & drive then left in a desserted place after a few days. So the last resort was to tow my car back to my home. I asked vincent for the tow truch tel & vincent & sally happened to be at punggol, they were so nice to come down & looked for me.

Vincent helped me start my car but still to no avail, at first he said maybe no batt. So he took out his car batt & pluck onto mine but still to no avail. So he said my car have immobilizer which is why my spare key with no remote cant accessed to start the engine.

In the end, i called up the tow truck ppl & the charges is $45 which is still quite cheap compare to what another friend of mine told me close to $100 cos is midnight. $45 is so easy to earn sia cos fr sf's hse to my hse is just 3 traffic lights away. I waited 40 mins for the tow truck ppl to come. I also put up 2 notices at sf's hse lift downstairs in case ppl picked up my car key can contact me.

The next day, i called up Cycle & carriage, they quote me $200 for the remote key, $30 for reprogramming as my both car key w remote is gone so it's dangerous, must reprogramme a new set. Another key w remote my dad lost it.

I called up another duplicate key company & they quote me $200 for the key that they come down & duplicate out which i can start the engine & drive but the key is without remote & if i want to have a key w remote, can drive down to his workshop which will cost $260. And that will cost me $460. I felt it's not worth though i need not call tow truch to come but tow truck only cost $45.

C & C told me Sat is half day so they are unable to help me do out the key & reprogramming, they will only do it on monday. But if i want to tow my car here to put they are fine with it. I think no point calling tow truck since they can only do it on monday, might as well leave my car at the loading bay till monday. Meanwhile, maybe i'll received a call very soon from some kind soul who picked up my car key ytd night. But my parents keep scolding me saying i am naive & if really no one returned me & i kanna summon, that will cost more. I kept emphasizing to them that if really kanna summon, can appeal but they just insisted me to call the tow truck to tow to C & C. So i've no choice but unreluctantly, obeyed.



Felt so heartpain to see my car being tow away because of my carelessness & am so afraid that the tow truck ppl will knock my car onto sth while towing as i cant follow, i need to left for work. Another $45 gone !!

 I've no mood to work, kept thinking abt my car & until now, i cant believe that i will be so blur to drop my car key w/o me knowing.  Abt 5 plus, i received an unknown no & while i redial bk, i was still thinking maybe is a kind soul hu called & tell me that he/she has happened to pick up my car key. And oh my, i cant believe my ears, this lady staying same blk as Sf actuali picked up my car key. I was so damn happy !! Luckily i can still stop the car workshop ppl from doing it on monday early morning....save me $230....I'm really thankful towards the kind hearted lady who informed me though i've already waste $90 on towing. I hope such thing will never happen to me again...Wat an UNLUCKY day !!
