Princess Amberly's Advance Bday

Our princess, Amberly turns 7 tis yr!! To celebrate her bday in advance, we went to Ion Watami for dinner. Pauline & Amberly have not dine there b4 so me & sf agreed that we should let them try watami that we have always been raving about for their yummy food.

Watami is a modern Japanese restaurant but they do have main dish korean food like bibimbap. And I will recommend to get the set meals which I find it v reasonable & value for $. If 4 ppl actuali can just order the 2 ppl set menu together w a few ala carte if not enough & it will be alot.

We all agreed that the thin pizza is v nice & it's unlike pizza hut which the pizza bread is too thick. The mushroom & chicken broth is nice too!! The total bill came up to $79+

Walked Ard Ion after our dinner & pauline wanted to go to TWG to buy the Macaron as she saw that a HK actress commented that she ate the nicest Macaron at TWG Sg. Indeed, I tried b4 other brands of macarons b4, nth can beat to this!

Wat products i'm using for my face & hair?

Today, i'm gonna share with my friends what products i'm using for my face & hair?? Cos i've friends who always ask me how do i maintain my hair & face, so i've decided to come up with this post.

First, let me share what i'm using for my face but do take note as everyone have different types of skin so what i'm using might not suit you. I'm lucky that so far, whatever shit i apply on my face, i did not have break out only once in my sec sch days, when i apply St Ives Mask, my face is sensitive and itchy and the next day, my face peeled. I will have pimples (abt 1-3) too whenever my period came but it will dissappear once my period ended. Just to share, my skin is Combination Oily T zone.

I'm into whitening cos i get in touch w the sun frequently so here goes my whitening Cleanser :

My Whitening Toner:

If i'm having my period/ i feel my face oilier on tt day, i will use Kiehl's Rare Earth Pore Refining Toner, it helps to ctrl oil....(i'm so lucky to have won the below kiehl's set)

At night, i use my sk2 Facial Treatment Essence after i cleanse my face cos normally at night, i'm not used to applying any night cream...

The Hydrating serum (my mum bought fr her facial salon):

The Whitening moisturiser w Spf20 :

I exfoliate my face once/twice a week. For those who do not know why we need to exfoliate. Our skin cells die & new cells keep getting regenerated. These dead cells come to rest on the top layer of our skin, making our skin look dull. This is why regular exfoliation becomes a Must in order to maintain our face looking radiant. I'm using Clarin's scrub:

And i top up with a make up base which acts as a sunblock:

But sometimes if i got go out/ have the mood to dress nicer, i will top up w my loose powder :

My problem area are my dark circles & i cant use too cakey concealer too as i'm always working till late, i dun wish to c fine lines appearing, so i use this Loreal Liquid Concealer , concealer is a MUST for me:

& then topped it up with my eye powder so that it will stay matte:

Den i'll need to draw my eyeliner, it's a MUST for me, w/o eyeliner, i feel my eyes looks tired. Eyeliner can makes one eyes brighten up & looks more energized ! This is my 3rd stick of liquid eyeliner, i like it cos it wun fade easily & when wash w normal cleanser, it can be removed off easily.

To maintain a gd complexion, i'll do mask twice a week, the leave on sheet mask, i'm using this Taiwan brand, as for apply on mask, i'm using Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Mask ( suitable for Normal - oily skin ), it helps to minimize pores and deep clean the pores as it contains Amazonian White Clay.

Amazonian White Clay helps in skin cleansing and regeneration, it helps to remove bacteria & toxins.

Another ingredients will be Oatmeal & Aloe vera, Oatmeal helps to absorb oil & aloe vera is known for healing & soothing. Thumbs up for this Kiehl's Mask! I love to use it whenever i feel the hormones changes in me & my face get oily if my period is approaching ....

Now come to talk about hair, as i've coloured hair, i use this:

Another Hair treatment that i wanted to recommend is this, it can be bought fr pink beauty, those shampoo shops located at amk or tpy or kovan. It's v hydrating to the hair & not tt rich, hair feels so soft after usage & most importantly, it's so value for $. Less den $30 for such a big tub.

Friends always asked me did i use hair straightener, blow straight my hair using hair dryer or did i just did rebonding?

No i do not even have a hair straightener at home, i'm super duper lazy to do all this...

As for rebonding, i did back many yrs ago, i think 3-4 yrs ago. Both pics below i totally did nothing to my hair.

I don't like to blow dry my hair using hair dryer as i always thought that the dryer will damage my hair until last year when i read Da S's book & she's one who really took great care of her hair. She mentioned in the book that no matter wat, must blow dry the hair, even if we do not wish to blow dry the whole hair, is a MUST to blow dry our scalp dry if not scalp will tends to get even oily. So i went to buy a hair dryer last yr & i started blow drying but only to my scalp & slight blow to my hair ends to semi dry...I did not use comb to blow dry my hair straight cos i do not know how to & my hands will ended up very 酸 with 1 hand holding onto the heavy dryer & e other hand trying to use the comb to make the hair straight.

Have u went for ur Cervical Cancer Vaccination ??

I did not know there's this vaccination called "Cervical Cancer Vaccination" until my bestie, Sf told me abt it and she has went for all her 3 jabs of vaccination after giving birth. She kept telling me to go and tk my injection as it's always gd to do prevention. So i've decided to go for it & b4 i went for it, i did some research about it & compare the prices of different hospital & clinics which i think might help some of u if u have not went for it. There's 2 types of vaccination for Cervical Cancer which is Gardasil & Cervarix.

GARDASIL is the only human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine that helps protect against 4 types of HPV. In girls and young women ages 9 to 26, GARDASIL helps protect against 2 types of HPV that cause about 75% of cervical cancer cases, and 2 more types that cause 90% of genital warts cases. In boys and young men ages 9 to 26, GARDASIL helps protect against 90% of genital warts cases.
GARDASIL also helps protect girls and young women ages 9 to 26 against 70% of vaginal cancer cases and up to 50% of vulvar cancer cases.
GARDASIL may not fully protect everyone, nor will it protect against diseases caused by other HPV types or against diseases not caused by HPV. GARDASIL does not prevent all types of cervical cancer, so it’s important for women to continue routine cervical cancer screenings. GARDASIL does not treat cancer or genital warts. GARDASIL is given as 3 injections over 6 months.

Cervarix is a vaccine against certain types of cancer-causing human papillomavirus (HPV).
Cervarix is designed to prevent infection from HPV types 16 and 18, that cause about 70% of cervical cancer cases. These types also cause some other genital cancers and some oropharyngeal cancers. Additionally, some cross-reactive protection against virus strains 45 and 31 were shown in clinical trials.^[2] Cervarix also contains AS04, a proprietary adjuvant that has been found to boost the immune system response for a longer period of time.


What is Cervical Cancer?

Cervical cancer is malignan neoplasm of the cervix uteri or cervical area. It may present with vaginal bleeding, but symptoms may be absent until the cancer is in its advanced stages. Treatment consists of surgery (including local excision) in early stages and chemotherapy and radiotherapy in advanced stages of the disease.

What Causes Cervical Cancer?

Most cervical cancer is caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Not all types of HPV will causes cervical cancer. Most women able to fight HPV infection. But some HPV virus lead to cancer. Only infected by the high risk HPV (cancer causing) will causes cervical cancer. These infections are asymptomatic and majority will resolve without any need for treatment. However, in some cases, the HPV infection can lead to the risk of progression to cervical cancer. This process can take more than 10 years.

According to the Health Promotion Board, a woman is diagnosed with cervical cancer every two days. Worldwide, over 280,000 women die from the disease every year.

Any Side Effects after the injections:

Yes, the studies show that the vaccines are extremely safe. There are no live viruses in the vaccines. The most common side effects are redness and soreness where the shot was given. Headaches (like when you have a cold or fever) are also common. Fever can also occur. Over-the-counter pain and fever medications will help if you have symptoms.
As with any new medication, safety issues will continue to be monitored by public health and regulatory authorities.

While doctors here say the side effects of the jabs are minimal, British newspaper The Telegraph reported on Tuesday that around 1,500 women in Britain who have taken Cervarix jabs experienced adverse reactions such as paralysis, convulsions and sight problems.

Dr Beh said: "There is no proven correlation between the vaccines and these nervous disorders, which can happen naturally in the population."

Dr Wong Seng Weng, medical oncologist at The Cancer Centre, said: "Some of the more serious side effects may not even be directly linked to the vaccines. Overall, the vaccines appear fairly safe."

When is it best to get ur injection?

Ideally, females should get vaccinated before they become sexually active. This is because the vaccines are most effective in girls/women who have not yet been exposed to the types of HPV covered by the vaccines. Girls/women who have not been exposed or infected with these types get the full benefit of the vaccine.

Prices that i've checked out:

Spore General Hospital - $131/ Jab
Khoo Teck Phuat Hosptal (Yishun )- $130 / Jab or $373 for 3 jabs (full payment during first jab)
Thomson Medical Hospital - $520+ for 3 jabs ( can't use Medisave)
Raffles Medical Group - $130 / Jab ( there's a promotion if u paid for 3 jabs & further discount for using DBS cards) but i did not ask the 3 jabs prices as i told them i am only interestd in seperate payment.
Consultation - $30  (Raffles Medical Grp told me der's consultation, the above 2 i forgot to ask )


I did not bother to call the rest of the clinics to check the price as you can see from above, all is price at $130 per jab. I think i will go for Raffles Medical Group as there's more outlet so it'll be more convenient for me.

Each Yr Govt will give each of us $300 for vaccination. But do take note if you are 26 & above, u cannot use Medisave anymore. I'm lucky that this year i am 25. I'll be going for Gardasil as most people took this from what i see through the forums.

There are 3 jabs for both Gardasil & Cervarix.
First Jab______2 mths later_______> 2nd Jab_______________4 mths later_______________>3rd Jab

So i'm planning to have my first jab on July ($130), 2nd Jab on Spet ($130) , 3rd Jab on Jan next yr ($130)

In this case, for injections i will not need to fork out any cash except for the consultation.

Paying for a careless mistake i've made

Last Friday, after work, i went to Sf's hse downstairs to collect my slice of Durian Mousse Cake from Goodwood Park Hotel as well as to c Baby jacus. Kai Bin & Shawn is oso der to see Jacus & they went Rivervale Mall to get drinks b4 i arrived. So when i park my car at the loading bay & was walking out fr my car to look for them, as usual, 1 of my hand was carrying my bulky wallet, my hp & car key. I called sf to ask where r they already & i guessed it was at this point of time when i'm happily chatting on e fone w her & i din even realised i've actually dropped my car key. I happily carried Jacus & even pass my stuffs to Sf, asking her to tk for me...The careless me din even realised tt time when i handed my stuffs to her, it was only left with 2 items.

I happily went up with SF & Jacus and even have my dinner & watch 9 pm show together w sf. When the 9pm show ended & i was abt to go home, then i realised my car key is not with me. I quickly rushed down & tot my car key is left at my car but to no avail. Den kev, sf & me search ard those areas that we walked through but to no avail too...So kev send me home to tk my spare key without remote. At that time, i was very nervous, was praying hard that the original key will be at the carpet or what once i opened my door. When kev opened my door with the spare key, the alarm sounded but he try to start the engine and it went off. But the engine cant be start with the spare key.

I was in a dilemma of what to do and i cant possible left my car here when my car key was lost at this blk. I'm afraid if someone bad happened to pick it up, he might steal my car away. Kev used to be a police officer in his army days & he told me der were such cases where people steal car & drive then left in a desserted place after a few days. So the last resort was to tow my car back to my home. I asked vincent for the tow truch tel & vincent & sally happened to be at punggol, they were so nice to come down & looked for me.

Vincent helped me start my car but still to no avail, at first he said maybe no batt. So he took out his car batt & pluck onto mine but still to no avail. So he said my car have immobilizer which is why my spare key with no remote cant accessed to start the engine.

What is a Car Immobilizer?

In the end, i called up the tow truck ppl & the charges is $45 which is still quite cheap compare to what another friend of mine told me close to $100 cos is midnight. $45 is so easy to earn sia cos fr sf's hse to my hse is just 3 traffic lights away. I waited 40 mins for the tow truck ppl to come. I also put up 2 notices at sf's hse lift downstairs in case ppl picked up my car key can contact me.

The next day, i called up Cycle & carriage, they quote me $200 for the remote key, $30 for reprogramming as my both car key w remote is gone so it's dangerous, must reprogramme a new set. Another key w remote my dad lost it.

I called up another duplicate key company & they quote me $200 for the key that they come down & duplicate out which i can start the engine & drive but the key is without remote & if i want to have a key w remote, can drive down to his workshop which will cost $260. And that will cost me $460. I felt it's not worth though i need not call tow truch to come but tow truck only cost $45.

C & C told me Sat is half day so they are unable to help me do out the key & reprogramming, they will only do it on monday. But if i want to tow my car here to put they are fine with it. I think no point calling tow truck since they can only do it on monday, might as well leave my car at the loading bay till monday. Meanwhile, maybe i'll received a call very soon from some kind soul who picked up my car key ytd night. But my parents keep scolding me saying i am naive & if really no one returned me & i kanna summon, that will cost more. I kept emphasizing to them that if really kanna summon, can appeal but they just insisted me to call the tow truck to tow to C & C. So i've no choice but unreluctantly, obeyed.



Felt so heartpain to see my car being tow away because of my carelessness & am so afraid that the tow truck ppl will knock my car onto sth while towing as i cant follow, i need to left for work. Another $45 gone !!

 I've no mood to work, kept thinking abt my car & until now, i cant believe that i will be so blur to drop my car key w/o me knowing.  Abt 5 plus, i received an unknown no & while i redial bk, i was still thinking maybe is a kind soul hu called & tell me that he/she has happened to pick up my car key. And oh my, i cant believe my ears, this lady staying same blk as Sf actuali picked up my car key. I was so damn happy !! Luckily i can still stop the car workshop ppl from doing it on monday early morning....save me $230....I'm really thankful towards the kind hearted lady who informed me though i've already waste $90 on towing. I hope such thing will never happen to me again...Wat an UNLUCKY day !!

It's been a long long time since i last blogged....Everyday routine, work cum bk, watch 9 pm & 11 pm tv den slp so no chance of using the laptop. By 12 plus, i'm already soundly asleep in my dreamland....I believe my frens hu have my FB have know tt i've finali got my house...It's reali so tough for us to get a house....Der r times when i m so sick of it & feel like giving up....Those who are v.close to me know how much i went through & i did sacrifice alot b4 i finali can be able to purchase it....We were not being able to go for the first balloting of the Prive EC cos our pay exceeded their income requirement of 10k. N it was 2 days b4 when i realised that i am unable to go for the balloting and i was quite traumatized abt it....

My colleagues, Kaibin & Meijun n my bestie, SuFang & kevin went for the first balloting on 10 Dec 2010 & i wake up early to ask them how was it, how is the procedure like etc....Whereas i cant b der to choose....E feeling was damn sucky....I did not give up cos i really wish to get it & dear did not oppose to my decision too ....He said as long as i'm happy can already....Am so glad that he's making my wish came true....Giving me a dream home cos i've been wanting to stay in EC rather den HDB so that i need not head to the Public swimming pool & squeeze w other ppl anymore...I will use the facilities tts y i will wish to stay in EC if not i wun waste e $ to stay at EC, i would rather save up e $ & stay in HDB...

Finali, on the 18 Dec 2010, we went to choose the leftover units, der's still alot of unit & luckily i'm still glad tt i am able to purchase a unit i like...But most units left w 2 balconies @ living & master bedroom which is oso more ex & i actuali think tt master bedroom dun need balcony...But dear like cos he said he can relax & smoke der...Which i reali hate cos i dun 1 my master bedroom to b full of cigarette smell, i'll make sure he close the balcony glassdoor each time he wish to smoke der....

Sufang & Kevin got a unit at my next blk & they got the highest floor which got high ceiling..Cool !! Kaibin & Meijun together w KB's parents will be staying my the other next blk & we're sharing the same lift Lobby....Chloe & Cheekeong will be same blk as me just few levels above me...Sufang's sis will oso b staying der but she'll b staying w her husband's parents too...How wonderful it is !! I reali cant wait to stay w all my frens aka neighbours...

After getting our Love nest, both of us agreed that we need to b more thrifty and save up more, cannot like last time spend $ like nobody's business & we must cut down on our travelling too...We still need the $ to renovate, buy furnitures.....Like most ppl, We were not born to be rich, this love nest we fork out ourselves using our hard earn $, we fought sales, went through long hours of standing during work, 经过风吹雨打  , cos we are in the same line. But Dear has left the bank industry since then, changing to food industry, still sales but is more to office hour timing. I'm happy for him cos for our industry, we also cant work long. Our Love nest will be completed by June 2014 but estimated End June 2013, it'll be ready...

Dear & me plan to hold our wedding Banquet 1 yr after we settle in which is 2014 if not wedding also need to spend a bomb again...I hope our ROM can b e same date as the banquet day itself so tt day, i asked the lawyer & he told me that if i show proof like the banquet receipt or rom booking date den i am able to get the keys too...And anw, hotel banquet oso need to book earlier so i guess beginning of 2013, we can start looking for ballroom & decide...Oh, i cant wait for all the upcoming events to happen, my wedding day, our love nest...
